“Am I really supposed to be here?”
That was the voice in my head as I stepped into a £25 million, 20,000 sq ft property in Notting Hill on Wednesday – probably the most jaw-dropping home I’ve ever seen in my life.
I’d been invited by Edwin de Silva (thank you Sir!) of Stark Group to spend the day with some truly inspirational SME housebuilders.
Walking through these super prime homes, hearing people’s stories, learning about their journeys… it was humbling.
Because while I felt incredibly lucky to be there – I also felt like a complete imposter.
I’m endlessly curious about SME housebuilders. I want to understand how they think, what they’ve learned, where they’ve struggled, and if I can offer anything useful from my own experience, I will.
By the end of the day, I was buzzing. Inspired.
Motivated by the kind of conversations you can’t fake.
And that old quote hit me hard:
“If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.”
I was definitely in the right room.
P.S. We weren’t allowed to take photos of the £25mill house, it was THAT exclusive!
